UNDER 16 BOYS | SOUTH COAST FLAME 0-2 RYDALMERE @ THE FURNACE | SUN 21 AUG 2022
It was a tough weekend for the Under 16 Flame side. Having played well the day before against Newcastle, it was always going to be an uphill battle facing a tough Rydalmere side.
The hosts started off well creating some chances but failed to put any of them away. With just one going in the back of the net, Flame could’ve really changed the tempo of the game.
Flame failed to control the midfield which did not help their cause allowing Rydalmere to take advantage and score a goal in each half to secure them the win.

UNDER 18 BOYS | SOUTH COAST FLAME 1-0 RYDALMERE @ THE FURNACE | SUN 21 AUG 2022
It was another double header weekend with Flame backing up on Sunday night against fourth placed Rydalmere FC. Flame had a good start and took some early attacks on goal. Jyden Harb’s shot in the seventh minute was well saved by the keeper. This kept the team momentum going and in the 14th minute, Matty Gazivoda kicked long to Lucas Ayala, and he crossed through to Antonio Sansone. Sansone took a touch and calmly finished, finding the net, and giving Flame an early lead.
As the game progressed, things got a little physical but Flame stayed focused and disciplined to continue to fight for the ball and repel Rydalmere’s pressure.
Flame’s defensive line was solid as they constantly shut down Rydalmere counter attacks, and Flame captain Ryan Thompson led by example when clearing several of the opposition’s run-on goals.
Although the game was scrappy, credit is due to Flame side who held out the opposition under pressure and secured the three points moving them up the ladder going into the last five games of the season.

Great captains knock. Showed excellent leadership and defensively didn’t put in a wrong foot.
