SENIOR MEN
Western Rage vs South Coast Flame
Saturday 28th May
Blacktown City Sports Centre
U/20: 5pm
First Grade: 7pm
Western Rage will take on South Coast Flame in another Saturday night match to jointly-conclude round 12 of the League Three Men’s competition.
Western Rage is yet to win this season but has been amassing some promising performances in recent weeks.
While eventually being defeated 3-1 by Newcastle Jets in their last match, they pushed the title challengers and could have equalised the scores after going down 2-0 had it not been for a missed penalty in the second half.
Coach Jarrod Carluccio believes the first victory is nearing ever closer, but they’ll be facing a tricky matchup in South Coast Flame, who have lost just one of their last five matches in League Three Men.
South Coast most recently drew 1-1 with Nepean, and have won three of their four games prior, defeating Camden Tigers and Hurstville FC 5-1 and 3-1 respectively before prevailing 2-1 against Fraser Park two matches later – in between, they lost 4-1 to the Jets.
The away side for this match will be looking for their fourth victory of the campaign, as they look to push closer and put pressure on the top four as the second half of the season begins.
In the last match where Flame faced off against Western Rage, both sides took a point away with the match finishing in a 2-2 draw.
The U/20’s will look to kickstart the second half of the season against the Rage, after having their game washed out last weekend. They take on a Rage side sitting in ninth.
SENIOR WOMEN
Inter Lions vs South Coast Flame
Sunday 29th May
Majors Bay Reserve
U/20: 1:05pm
First Grade: 3pm
A revived Inter Lions side take on South Coast Flame FC at Majors Bay Reserve in an important clash on Sunday afternoon.
Inter Lions didn’t lose many admirers in their 3-1 loss to unbeaten leaders Hills United FC in their game last weekend. South Coast Flame FC were beaten 4-1 at Wanderers Football Park against SD Raiders FC in their game.
In recent weeks, Inter Lions have found their groove and should be a much-improved side headed into the second half of the season. Hosting the Flame should be a good way for them round out the midway point and find the back of the net.
South Coast Flame FC haven’t had the best month with a recent losing streak which has them in 10th place in the League One Womens ladder. One positive is seeing Jessica Cruickshank back on the scoresheet and hoping to do similar this weekend.
YOUTH BOYS
Hakoah Sydney East vs South Coast Flame
Saturday May 28th
Hensley Athletic Field
U/13: 8:30am
U/14: 10:05am
U/15: 11:40am
U/16: 1:15pm
U/18: 3pm
With three games in hand on most sides above them, the U/13’s have just five teams above them. One of those sides is Hakoah, sitting in third with a game in hand over the Flame. A win in this game as well as catch up games could well and truly see the Flame compete for top spot on the ladder
A narrow loss last week sees our U/14’s sitting in 11th. They face a Hakoah side equal on points with the Flame, with a game in hand. This one shapes as a must win contest.
The U/15’s are knocking on the door of the top five, sitting in sixth while on equal points with fourth place, and having a few games in hand over teams above them. Hakoah sit in 12th and are winless in their last five games.
Wash outs see the U/16’s currently in ninth, however they take on a Hakoah side not too far above them in seventh. Another close contest in store here.
Our U/18’s round off the day with an 11th vs 12th battle, with the Flame just one point ahead of Hakoah. Another must win contest for the Flame here.
YOUTH GIRLS
Inter Lions vs South Coast Flame
Sunday May 29th
Majors Bay Reserve
U/14: 8:20am
U/15: 9:55am
U/16: 11:25am
After being dealt with an extremely depleted squad last week, featuring a lot of players from our GSAP program, the U/14’s suffered a heavy loss at the hands of SD Raiders. Fortunately, a few players are set to return this week as the Flame take on the 15th placed Lions.
The U/15’s faced a similar situation to the U/14’s last week in their 3-0 defeat, as the makeshift squad heavily featured U/14’s players. A few players are set to return this week as they face the 13th placed Lions.
The U/16’s grabbed a massive win against the Raiders last weekend, and see themselves moving up the ladder nicely. They take on the 13th placed Lions on Sunday morning.
