14 Boys: South Coast Flame 2-0 NWS Spirit

Spirit applied a high press early on, trying to force us to turnover possession early. Their intent was known as they were happy to take shots from distance with any chance they could. A tactical change saw us beginning to beat their press, but executions at critical times saw the Flame let Spirit of the hook.

An even game saw the scoreline 0-0 at half time with no real highlight for either side.

The second half Flame looked a lot more focused, beginning to exert their style of play and cause plenty of threat towards the opposition, however lacked the composure needed in the front third. Spirit rarely caused trouble and in times they did, the defence remained rock solid.

Flame continued to push and exert dominance, and was finally rewarded for their efforts in the final 10 minutes when Ben Parry was found in the box and squeezed his shot in the near post to lead 1-0.

The game opened up from here and Parry could of had a hand full of goals, rounding the keeper as some desperate defending saw his effort cleared off the line, before having another attempt tipped away by the goalkeeper. Parry would grab his second and secure the win with a neat header inside 6 yards with the last kick of the game.

Player of the week: Kiran Dhami

Kiran remained rock-solid in defence throughout the game, being involved in numerous defensive blocks and clearances, and caused havoc going forward, combining well with his winger and getting into dangerous positions to be a constant threat to Spirit.

15 Boys: South Coast Flame 1-1 NWS Spirit

The opposition started strongly, retaining a lot of possession and forcing us to defend in numbers, and we conceded a goal after 15 minutes. We worked our way back into the game, and with some tweaks at halftime, limited their chances and created some of our own. Brayden Steele showed great determination and skill to score for us and the game ended 1-1.

Player of the week: Caleb Haig

Caleb had a strong  performance in the game, and high effort at training.

16 Boys: South Coast Flame 2-3 NWS Spirit

The boyS started off slow, and went down one goal early in the first half. We regained some composure and were able to win a penalty which was converted by Cass Marr. We then conceded a goal just before half time and went into the break 2-1 down. We came out and played very well in the second half. We were committed and were winning our 1-on-1 battles. We held possession well and created chances but unfortunately against the run of play, we went 3-1 down before scoring a goal in the last two minutes by Blake Pearson A much better second half and hoping to take this into the next game.

Player of the week: Case Marr

Case scored one goal and set-up the second goal.
